It looks likely because its the same area and the men from both families work in Iron and the women in cotton so It could be how they met.

is it me or do John and Elizabeth seem to disappear after the 1891 census.

Could John of been the son of John and Elizabeth and then George and Adaline adopted him?

I was looking for information about my grandfather Cyril Short (1903) and I found him in the 1911 living with his parents George and Adaline Short in Lancashire. But living with them was a 19 year old John Reeves, and the relation to the head is nephew.
Adaline's maiden name was Reeves and she was 1 of 11 children 7 of which were brothers.
As far as I know the whole family was born around the Manchester and Lancashire area. Im really trying to find out who John's parents are.
