looking for elizabeth beames 1817 gloucestershire, she married john roberts at bishops cleeve, i have their marriage certificate, i cannot find her parents or siblings the witnesses on the cert were jane beams and john davis any help great, regards chris

as per IGI Elizabeth Beams 11 Aug 1816 Horsley, Gloucester dau of Thomas and Sarah. Do you not think this could be her???

Eliza Beames 28 July 1816 Wotton under Edge, Gloucs dau of Charles and Hannah.

I suppose she could be either..

Are there no Fathers' names on the marriage certificate?

Was her marriage to John Roberts her second marriage? She would have been around 40 years old if they married in 1857

Does it say widow on the marriage certificate and can you give her fathers name please

There is NO marriage on either freebmd or Glosbmd for the names you quote

Horsley and Wotton under Edge are both a considerable distance from Bishops Cleeve - just as a point of info

I have a feeling that the 'cert' is a parish register entry - hence the absence of info about the fathers

Yes u r right its a parish entry it gives john roberts bach, to elizabeth beams spinster,

further info that came from my cousin this morning goes as follows there is an aaron beames on the gotherington 1841census where he is 65yrs any further investigation would be great, jane may have been her sister.

The marriage for john and elizabeth came direct from gloucester records office, they married on 23/1/1835
the only ref to census is 1841 for aaron beames which could be her father, tounge in cheek, thanks chris
