Sarah Ann above is my grandmother.
I have Charles death cert the informant is his eldest daughter Ellen by Jane,not Elizabeth his "wife" I know my grandmother was not brought up by her parents,they both had died when she was very young. supposeeither of the deaths for Elizabeth is possible

sorry i think she died 1884,the same year my grandmother was born.I know Charles died 1886

It certainly possible that they didnt marry ,although I couldnt find a death cert for E Berry ,she died about 1887

I do know that Charles married Jane in Marylebone in 1855.
Also Jane died 1 Bishops yard Grosvenor square dec1864

It is of course possible that Charles and Elizabeth never formally married and that initially Elizabeth simply joined Charles to look after his and her deceased sisters children.
