Wow, thank you all for so much help on my query. I have a little info on the Mc Canns in that I have the birth record of Bernard Mc Cann born in Loanhead , Midlothian, Scotland in 1897. His parents were John and Ann who were in my query. Bernard became a shale miner like his father. His three sons did not go down the pit. His daughter was my late Mother in law. You have all given me directions in which to go for info and Irish censuses. As I have had little to do with Irish records I was at a loss but now can go forward with confidence. Thank you all, Tricia. |

LOL unfortunely that will happen when your looking for McCann's around that area. I'll delete the headstone inscription, that might confuse everybody. |

The tree on ancestry has a ton of information on the McCann's, I can confirm most of the childrens birth, but John not 1 of them. They have Mary dying in Scotland 1901 |

John M'Cann married Ann M'Calister on July 21st 1891 in the Ballymena registration district of Co.Antrim. I have found them on the I.G.I. site. but how do I found out the details of parents and place etc?. Could someone help a Newbie to Irish Genealogy please. Thank you, Tricia H. |
