Emma, if you bought a copy of Jessie's marriage certificate it would at least indicate if Edmund was alive when she married.

It looks like after Elizabeth died the children were with other family members .the older one getting married before 1911.

I have a similar puzzle . my German grt grandfather disappears after 1907 when his wife died. He didnt die in the UK so can only assume he went back to Germany. Unfortunately travel records haven't been kept as they were just cross channel journeys.

I did inquire at Kew but was told no records have been kept.


Jessie doesnt show on the 1911 although she is in Kingston for her marriage . wonder if she went with Edmund and then came back again

The 1901 shows Jessie as born in Prussia which suggests that visits were made back there.
