Find Ancestors

My relative John Plimley was born in Wolstanton(Newchapel) Staffordshire in c 1855.He is showing in the 1881 Census with his widowed mother Ann-RG11/2708/116/27.

I can't find him in 1891 or 1901 but is to be found in the 1911 Census.He is shown with a wife Ann given as born in Biddulph Staffordshire in c 1861,a daughter Ann given as born in Wolstanton in 1899 and a son George given as born in 1900 in Wolstanton.Both Ann and George are surnamed Plimley.Also given as a son is a John Talbot who is given as born in Wolstanton in 1886.

The 1911 entry shows John and Ann as married for 12 years but I can find no sign of a marriage,also no births for Ann and George.Help please?

I've had a bit of a look around and to start to find an answer to all this,we have to go back to John's supposed parents, Daniel Plimley born in 1823 in Thursfield Staffordshire who married an Ann Browning in Congleton Cheshire in 1847.Ann Browning was born in Audley Staffordshire in c 1828.Now Daniel was to die in 1855 in the Wolstanton District.

In the 1881 Census along with John are some children given as of Ann's who are surnamed Heath.included amongst these is a Sabina given as born in c 1867.I looked on Staffordshire BMD for the Heath births of this time and found a Sabina Heath's birth in 1866 and the mother's maiden name is showing as Browning.

So looks like the Annie who married Francis Robert Lloyd was born in 1872. The Ann married to John Pimbley gives a birth year of 1861.

So John Plimbley married Ann Ryder?

The marriage is given on Staffordshire BMD as at Wolstanton between a JJohn "Plimbley" and an Ann Ryder.I wish I could find the birth of John in c 1855 and my mind would be at rest then!

I think that the 1891 provides a connection.

For the Heath members of the household Sarah A's surname has been written as Heath. George and Sabina have "Ditto" marks for their surnames.

I've found the birth of a John Plimbley in 1857 in the Wolstanton District.This birthyear of course rules out the John from being my relative as Daniel his supposed father died in 1855.

Some may say that this is slightly harsh,it may well be but its strictly true!
