If 1881, is him then this could be him in 1891:-
1891 England Censusabout George Curd Name: George Curd Age: 50 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1841 Relation: Head Spouse's Name: Sarah Curd Gender: Male Where born: Farnborough, Kent, England Civil parish: Brighton Ecclesiastical parish: St John County/Island: Sussex Country: England Street Address:

......which means by this time he was not in the army and so unlikey he died in the war.

Do you have the marriage certificate? This will give you their father's names and occuptions which will help trace them on census records. It will also give you their own occupations and their ages and address at the time of marriage.

Hello
Can you help me with info on my GG-grandfather?
He is George curd Bapt-29-1-1843 Farmborough kent. I know a bit abt him. As he is from my fathers side. And i have a story abt him in a book wrote abt my mothers side. I'm not sure if this was before he went to war? He had loads of business. And a big horse dealer who sold, horses to the army,as mounted horses. But i found on someones tree. He was a Soldier Driver in the R H Artillery woolwich. But was he? And when did he die? Found he might of died croydon surrey? So that mean he never died in the war. And was he a mounted horse rider? He married a Kezia Roberts in Lee kent. julie
