Can anyone shed any light on Mary. She was born in Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1879 and emigrated to South African on her own where she met and married Christian James Smith. Mary was my grandmother. I can find a birth but this gives her father as Robert Henderson whereas I have a letter supposedly from her father giving persmission for her to marry and this is signed W. J. Henderson.
