Maybe Emma's first husband had died which is why she is listed as widow in 1911. I think this could be her first marriage but by 1891 she was back at home with her parents with son Arthur and listed as married (Ancestry mistranscribes her as Findling)

Here is another bizarre 'missing' case!
Joseph's parents Charles b1848 & Elizabeth were living in Castle Road Lavendon Bucks in 1881 and in 1901, but where were they in 1891? They are not in Lavendon!!

Well! What did I expect? Of course they didn't marry.....

According to the 1911 census, Emma Hawkes is now a widow. She was 'married' in 1901.

Did John die? I cannot find a death.

Maybe Bessie married Joseph in the name of Mills- or even Lucas. Going to check that out.

I think this is the man from the 1893 marriage but he's not with a wife? Wonder if Bessie married him and then left with Joseph James?

I can't see a marriage but there is a child (Ivy A Watts) born in Potterbury Reg District in 1912 to a couple with surname Watts and mother's maiden name Ladds so I wonder if this is Bessie in 1891 with the same birthplace as in 1901 and 1911 (Edit appears to be listed as Mary Ladas in 1871)

when did he marry?

I am searching for Joseph (James) Watts in 1891.
He was born c 1874 Lavendon Bucks.

I have him on the 1881 census age 7, with parents Charles & Elizabeth & siblings.
I also have him in 1901 age 29(!) with wife Bessie and child living in Northampton working as a Shoe Laster. In 1911, age 37, he is in Stony Stratford with family.

Can anyone find him in 1891, because I'm blowed if I can! :-D
