So you did have the address where the clipping was found!

She may never have married, the family story may be just that. I would send for that 1940 death that I posted earlier

Would think that 1940 Death Cert. posted earlier was worth getting...

(did note on a query that somebody had mentioned the 1919 passenger Edith was Married)

Patricia, I appreciate that you might know very little, but I dont anything at all.

So this is where the clipping was found? Whch means if these events did happen, they happened before 1941

the clipping was found in her fathers place [my great grandad] so dont know anything more than i was told ediths sister [my grandmother ]came to live in nottinghamshire when she married and died before i was born so its a story that has passed down i have seem relitives they said knew story but nobody ever spoke about it

i have a copy of her birth cert she was born 9th november 1898 father alred thomas james mundy mother was caroline mundy [isham]the mundy name is spelt munday in some census

it was said she married a dr but i cannot find anything at all only that a family relitive found a newspaper clipping when clearing the old cottage out about her dying leaving 5 children so herhusband gassed himself and the children but she threw the clipping away this edith was my grandmothers sister

On that arrival 1919, says Wife for column asking occupation in Country from which you came...(also M for married, and No as to having been there before)

thanks chris is there anyway to find out if she came back only the story handed down is that she married had 5 children she died leaving her husband and children so he gassed himself and the children it must have made some news somewhere if she married its the married name so i can go on

any marriage for this lady she would have come back in her married name and when the family story said she died here before 1940 as she left 5 children but no one knew who she married this is a puzzle
