Sharon, Gins is right. There would be no point in obtaining the birth record for Peter born in Lanarkshire 1900, until you confirm that the man who married your grandmother was the son of Edward McIntyre and Jeanie/Jane Downie. Once you confirm this, Scottish records are fairly easy and straightforward to research for Ancestors.

Sharon
You really need to get the marriage certificate for Peter and Doris to check who his father is and his occupation.
Details are above
If you dont get it, you could end up chasing the wrong family :-0

After looking at the 1901 census data in Old Kilpatrick, and the other people on it.... If this is this correct family that Sharon is looking for........ It is the family of William McIntyre and Robina Smith who married in Kelvin Glasgow in 1886. Peter A McIntyre( 36) and Andrew Smith (29) are listed as brothers of William and Robina.
OR....More Likely If he is the other Peter McIntyre on the 1901 census in Douglas Lanark. This is the family of Edward MacIntyre and Jeanie Downie who married in Lanark, Lanarkshire in 1900
Peter McIntyre found travelling from Barbados to Plymouth in 1929 Doesn't look right. This man was an engineer who was en route to his home in Rothesay, Isle of Bute

A PM from Sharon states her mom was born in 1932, Bristol
This looks like it's your grandparents marriage? If you buy the certificate, you should find Peters fathers name and occupation and then we can search the censuses

Hi,I am a beginer at this and am wondering if there is anyone out there who can help me find out if there are any living relatives of Peter McIntyre. He was my mum's dad and left the family early on,he was born in 1900 and died in 1959 at a mapperly hospital, nottingham, notts.I am afraid thats all we have to go on we do not know wether he was born in Scotland or Ireland,he did work as a mineing engineer in speedwell at some time or other its like the man is a ghost and noone seems to know anything about him and as my mum is 80 she is desperate to know what exactly happened to him in his lifetime,he left 6 children at a young age for my nan to bring up on her own.I know its a familiar story but I just thought i would give this website a go! Thankyou for reading this. sharon58
