i have found the death cert of marys husband john russell { see the 1871 census}john died aged 78 in Beer devon reg district axminster feb 2nd 1892
can you pleae check the 1891 census to to see if mary was with him john russell born 1813 BEER devon died BEER 1892

You are right they were living Axminster Reg District - my apologies. Honiton only covers Beer post 1936 - my eyes - sorry

Based on this - this is a more likely death as her husband is widowed in 1891

It looks probable that this is the Mary Russell that died in 1901 as she was living in the Honiton Reg District in 1901. If she isn't yours then I would think that the 1881 death could well be your Mary Russell.

As Reg said how did you knpw she died in 1881?

Based on the 1881 census the Mary I posted in 1871 was still alive in 1881. This is the only othrr deaths I could see on FreeBMD for a Mary Russell in the Honiton Reg District. I will try to check who she was
