Seeking Willliam PEARSON, dyer, probably with wife Ann in London/Middlesex please.

His daughter Marianne (chr. 1829 London) married in Jan 1851 in St Clement Danes. Her address was 22 Stanhope St (but this was the same as the groom, Thomas PROSSER). Witnesses were Frederick James JONES & Emma JONES, undoubtedly relatives of Ann whose mn was JONES (m. 1828 London I believe). No idea if Marianne had siblings.

Not much to go on but fingers crossed that you genie geniuses will snoop them out! :-D

But a definite match, thanks Gins!

I have Marianne's marriage certificate and it does not state her father Wm was deceased...though I agree all looks good for a 2nd marriage for her mother...but is Marianne shown as Grist on the original 1841, or is it just 'ditto'? As she married as Pearson.

Also if Wm died in Jan 1832, would Jane Frances' baptism later that same year indicate that her father was dec'd?

Janes birth date is Dec 7th 1831, the record does not show her father was deceased but I think thats quite normal

Also on marriage records its not unusal for the father not to listed as deceased even though he might be!

The 1841 has 'ditto' for the surnames of the children

I see a death for Benjamin Fawcett Grist in 1876 in Pancras...but no Ann Grist in Pancras.

It is interesting that Benjamin was a music engraver as Thos Prosser seems to change professions some time after marriage and becomes a 'master music printer'!

Pearson's of Hutton Buscel

The Pearson (also spelt Pierson) and Candler families, who between them owned much of the land in West Ayton and at the east end of Hutton Buscel, had lived in the area at least since Elizabethan times. Several Pearsons are mentioned including a Thomas born in 1580, died 1632 and a John who was born in 1615 and a JP in 1656. They intermarried with the Storrs. Thus in 1799 John Huntress was born to Thomas Storr yeoman and Elizabeth Pearson of Hutton Buscel. In 1768 Thomas Storr Pearson was born to John and Elizabeth Pearson. He died in 1805 there being a monument to him and his wife Elizabeth in the church tower.

Good spotting, Gins! Guessing daughter Henrietta married a Mr Baker.
