Find Ancestors

Jemima may have been the first wife of my ancestor Thomas Fisher. I have found a marriage record for a Jemima and Thomas, 10th Jan 1814 at Watford, but have doubts. It's the right area but my Thomas's first child, as far as I can see, wasn't born until 1821. I can find no other references to Jemima Flowers.

Please help if you know of any further info. JEC

I know the the date for Sarah doesn't gell But Bushey is a very small place now. In 1841?
Thomas snr. married Charlotte Andrews 20/06/1831 @ Rickmansworth.
Thomas snr. buried 19/05/1844 @ Bushey

Who gave you the info you posted?

You're assuming that Thomas jnr on 1841 was the eldest child of Thomas snr...................never wise to assume.

Any older offspring had probably moved on

Also, in 1841, the ages of over-15's were rounded down to the nearest 5 years..........

Have you followed-through on Thomas jnr to ascertain actual birth year.........and birthplace?

Family search has the following baptisms for children of Thomas Fisher. The ones for Thomas and William might fit at a pinch (allowing for the rounding down to nearest 5 years of over-fifteens in 1841)

The mother's name doesnt transcribe as anything much like Jemima, though the baptisms do start after the marriage.

Children of Thomas and Charlotte can also be found on family search baptised at Bushey, commencing with John in April 1832.
