Really strange as she had not used or updated on Ancestry for several years but did login about 1 month ago.

Rule out that one...he was a 'Gentleman'

Harold Wilson Williams or Harold William Williams approx year of birth 1875.

This one person has driven me mad for years so thought I would see what other members might come up with.

He was the first husband of my great grandmother but the only info I have on him is from certificates and do not have any census info, where he was born or when and where he died.

I have got all certs and census info for Sarah Ann Wood.

Marriage cert dated 10 Feb 1895 Rotherhithe.
Sarah Ann Wood to Harold Wilson Williams. He gives his age as 20, batchelor, occupation of labourer, address as 33 Aspinden Road Bermondsey. His father as Charles William occupation of waiter. Witnessed by George Moody and Jessie Wood who are related to Sarah.

Birth cert dated 2 May 1897 of Harold Williams.
Father is Harold Wilson Williams. Mother Sarah Ann Williams formerly Wood.
Informant S A Williams, mother. Harold gives his occupation as general labourer.

Birth cert dated 25th August 1898 of Sarah Ann Williams.
Father is Harold Wilson Williams. Mother Sarah Ann Williams formerly Wood.
Informant is S A Williams, mother, of 56 West Lane, Rotherhithe. Harold gives his occupation as general labourer.

Death cert dated 28 March 1898 for Harold William Williams at 56 West Lane.
Shown as son of Harold William Williams a Private in East Surrey Regiment.
Informant was Agnes Fowler, Aunt, present at death, 56 West Lane.

Agnes, sister of Sarah Ann, married Edward Fowler in 1886.

Sarah Ann b1898 and her mother are on 1901 and 1911 census as Walker. Sarah Ann Williams married John William Walker in 1914 and is shown as widow. One witness is C J Notley who is a relative of Sarah,

If Harold Williams served and died in the Boer War then I have no idea which death would be the right one. If he died in England then there are too many possibles but none really with the right approx year of birth if the marriage cert age is correct.

So any ideas would be appreciated.
