Find Ancestors

Hello,
I have been researching the Saich Family, of Dunmow, Essex, for a long while, and keep coming up against a brick wall. It's strange how something, after all this time, can seem more relevant.
I have a George Saich born around 1839, in Dunmow. According to his marriage cert his father was a Robert.
(There is also a George John born 1839 Dunmow, father Geeorge John Saich. I have followed both families and know they they are both in different places from 1871, so they are definitely different people.I do have all the census,
I am thinking that if my George's father was a Robert, and George John snr's father was a Robert (this is also confirmed) then maybe Robert, from my family and George John snr are brothers.
Can anyone look this up, for me at the Essex records centre, please. I really need to confirm this as has been going on for so long, now.

Hi Chris, yes, have looked on there and noted the reference numbers, for the relevant films, but wondered if anyone was actually going to the records office, and could look, for me. thanks

Do you have an LDS Family History Centre near you? They would order in the parish records for you for just a few pounds so that you could look through them yourself.

It gets so confusing, Anne. There were TWO different Georges, in Dunmow, both born around the same time. As I say I have followed both of them but i am trying to connect the two families. I think that George John born 1839's grandfather was a Robert born 1790. Then the other George born 1839 had a father who was born around the same time as Geoerge John snr, so I think these two were brothers. I just wanted to confirm this from the records office. I did, at one time look for George John, there and found out some details on him, but need to get back, further with the records now to check the fathers and grandfathers.

Hi Anne,
The first entry, that you have given me is the George Saich that I have, and have been following, but the second entry is the other Geoerge. I can only reolsve this by someone doing a look up, at the records office as only will tell me the relationship between the TWO GeorgesI think they are cousins, with their fathers being to brothers, I just need to verify this. Thank you for your help and time, though

you refer to a marriage certificate so who did he marry?

Anne, the marriage cert for one George is to Mary Ballard, Brentwood, where the family had moved to, by then,( i hold both certs) the other George, is George John and he married, firstly, Susannah and then Charlotte Thorogood.

Thanks again, Anne, I do have those records but need to find out more, now of the earlier part of the families. I think that a visit to the records office is the only way I am going to be able to find out any more., thanks again

or do as suggested - contact local Family History Society - they usually carry parish records in either book or CD form or both - I have the local parish records for my tree in book form - not expensive - bought them through a local Family History fair
