Parish records may not actually give much more information. The amount of detail on these varied from parish to parish. Sometimes they only include the name of the groom and the bride and date of marriage with no further information. Sometimes the name and occupation of the bride's father is given.

Civil Registration didn't come into force in Scotland until 1855..........so you will not be able to get certs.......only baptism records

pre 1855, there were no birth records kept.
If you are fortunate, there may be a record of a baptism.
Odd?
All the children born to James and Jane can be found of FS showing only their DOB which must have come from their baptisms, yet, not one of them has a baptismal date showing ???

Has anyone got information on James Crow and Jane Strachan married in Montrose Scotland 1823.
