just to note that I wasn't suggesting it was the Mary Anne Cockburn born 1884 who married Richard Hildreth in 1886, rather that it was the mother ... but as we have both determined, her husband seems to have been living after that date to have the other child.

Mary Anne Cockburn dob was 1884 ---- marriage year for Richard Hildreth and m a cockman was 1886 so that's not mary anne Cockburn . ------------ It does look like there was another child born to Richard Thomas Cockburn , so he was still alive at this time .

If my calculations are right this Richard Ambler Hildreth was the father of the wife of Donald Burrows who was Ellen Amelia Burrows's brother.

Three people here at this website have Hildreths born in India in their trees.
Any children of Donald Burrows and Elizabeth Amy Hildreth
were first cousins of children of Ellen Amelia Burrows and Anthony Joseph Cockburn

and you never know what people might know :-)

also no sign at the CWGC site of Anthony dying in WWI for example

yes they were all born in india , my mother came over in 1960, I don't know what happen to the sister (don't know her name ) and brother henry ( I have a picture of him with his wife called lou? in india , found a letter from him to my mother in England and his address was IAF Bombay , that is all I have , my mother did not talk much about her family as I think they were in the convent at a young age and maybe did not know much?. Found Anthony and Ellen and Edmund on family search.org

Were all of Anthony and Ellen's children born in India? Did the children all remain there? Where did you find the record of Edmund Godfrey?

If he was in the English military he should appear in the 1911 census but I'm not seeing him.

I have 2 spellings for him Anthony and anttony on a letter that my mother had ? Anthony and Ellen married in madras in 1907 , I found that they had a child Edmund godfrey in 1908 but can not find anything else about Edmund . My mother b 1924 and sister? were put in a convent when they were young , my mother thought that her father died when they were young that's why they were put in a convent , she also had a brother called henry but I don't know what happen to him I think he was in the IAF ( indian Air Force, I think ?) regards eve
