Sylvia, that's why it rang a bell as I'd have thought the same if I'd not seen it already for the marriage. :-) |

However, the certificate may not tell you definitively what you want to know. |

Just a point re the GR transcript saying gender "unknown", looking at a couple of examples that seems to be the default when the name is not clearly male or female, eg other Alexandrias are also "unknown" gender, as is Leslie. |

All the information posted is correct. Eliza was his mother and Lydia Sharman his grandmother, but I need proof or non proof of who is biological father was - it would appear that there is the possibility that it was not Thomas Henry. Alexandria (named after the famous battle of) was born in 1916 Thomas and Eliza married in 1920 and went on to have 5 girls. |

It's unlikely that the father's name will be on the certificate for Alexandria, but the only way to be sure is to buy it as the image does not appear to be online.. |

Doris Joan b 05. April 1921 died sometime in the 2000s. She was married to a NZ Service Man of Danish descent, namely Halvor or Alver Pedersen. Settled in Palmerston North, NZ and had 5 children - 3 boys and two girls. She was always known as Bubs in the family. Alex had 5 sisters and I think she was the eldest. Only one of those is still alive and is in her 80s. Come back if you need anything else. |
