I think you might be right about that 1841 entry ... would be a bit of a come down, unless he couldn’t find work as a stonemason when he came to St. Helens.
... so it looks like she re-married after Parsons died?.

I wondered if she wet to Liverpool as a servant ... many Welsh girls did.

I don't like that 1841 Census because it states that father Thomas is a stone mason, yet he is a labourer on every other record that I have seen. Bit of a come-down I would have thought!

I'm thinking maybe she did not marry William Henry!

I'm poking around trying to find information ......... I cannot for example find a birth or baptism for Margaret Parsons b/c ca 1855

I think this might be William Henry's baptism ......... note the name of his father

It looks as if William Henry was quite a lot older than Margaret. If this is correct, and it seems to fit, then I wonder how she came to be in Liverpool and then she came back to St. Helens. I can’t find a marriage for them though.

The 1841 census entry looks a good possibility but I’ve no idea how I could prove it was them.

Thanks so much.

Thanks greyghost. I'm really looking for any info on Margaret. I posted as much as I was sure of.
The following info is a bit of guesswork.
In 1871 census there is a Henry Parsons, age 11, living with John and Betsy at 37 Glover St., St. Helens. He's shown as nephew.
Now, in the 1881 census there is a Margaret (b. Llangollen) married to a John Crosby, living with a Henry Parsons, stepson in Parr, St. Helens. Now, I think this is possibly my Margaret but I can't seem to find a marriage to anyone called Parsons.

Is this the parents with Margaret and Robert in 1841 - the 1861 census says born Llangollen. Ages out but as it's the 1841 census it would give birth year of c 1796/7 for Thomas and Margaret

Trying to find info on Margaret Roberts, born about 1826 in Llangollen, N. Wales. Her parents were Thomas and Margaret. Thomas and Margaret had four children - Ann, b. 1823, John b. 1824, Margaret b. 1826 and Robert b. 1833. The family moved to St. Helens, Lancashire, they're in the 1861 census living at 8 Bath Street - at least Thomas, Margaret and Robert with wife, Ellen. John was already 'married' and no idea where Ann was.
Margaret died in 1879 in St. Helens.
Thanks.
