Hello

Does anyone have access to Newspaper articles please?

Joseph Barton Machin murdered Gladys Stennett in 1935 in Wakefield Yorkshire. Im looking for any possible info on this please including date of death if possible.

Her death record shows her as being 17yrs of age on death.

It appears that Josephs mmn was Stennett so they were related. Ill look into thst.

I don't have a sub to the British Newspaper Archive , to see the full reports, but there are these reports.
It looks like the date was probably 13 June 1935.

could joseph had killed himself being he died same year 1935 i have looked at murders list he's name is not there

Gist of the partial reports above -

Joseph was Gladys's cousin, and lived next door.
He was in love with her, but she wouldn't marry him, so he strangled her with string in an allotment garden on 13 June 1935, and later hanged himself from a tree, probably on the same day.
