I am trying to find out more about Agnes Johnstone (born 1853 probably in Kirkudbrightshire or Dumfries-shire). Could someone please look for her marriage to James McGuckian (born Parton Kircudbrightshire c 1841). Their first child was christened at Crossmichael, Kircudbrightshire on the 09.11.1872. Agnes Johnstone is named as her mother.
In the early 1870s James and Agnes moved to Yorkshire and the family feature in the 1881 census of Delph. Unfortunately Agnes's place of birth is given as 'Scotland' on that census. Agnes died in 1882 at the age of 28 and does not appear on any other censuses.

Look for info using the Scotlands People website.
https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/
The marriage - if there was one - will be recorded there and you can download the certificate if you purchase credits and use some of them

Agnes' age differs from the 1881 (age 27 so born 1853/4) to age at death in 1882 (age 30 so born 1851/2) You say in your OP that she was 28 at time of death, but it's 30 on the death registration posted above.
--------------- Just looking on the of chance they married in England - it didn't take James long to remarry after Agnes' death

How could James be 20 in 1871 having been 10 in 1851?
And then 35 in 1881?

Not helping but the daughter Annie died in 1894 and there is this piece in the 'Stalybridge Reporter' 28 July 1894.
"It is with deep regret that we have this week to note the death of Miss Annie McGuckian, daughter of Mr James McGuckian, at Delph. Deceased, who was only 21 years of age, had been suffering from inflammation of the brain. She was one of the leading singers in connection with the Delph Wesleyan Choir and was very much respected. She had been ill about 5 weeks. Her loss is keenly felt, and much sympathy is expressed for the bereaved family."

Do you have Annie's birth certificate? Generally the place and date of parents' marriage is recorded with parents' names.

The mother registered the birth and claims to have married on May 29th 1872, at what looks like 'Colindale', but I could be misinterpreting the location as the image is a bit blurred
However, there is no recorded marriage matching that 'info'. The conclusion must be that they simply didn't marry

Ann McGuckian (spinster, parents Peter and Ann) married Robert Hannah on 28 May 1872 (see my previous post) at Chaplecross, Crossmichaei.
Maybe her sister-"in-law" Agnes "borrowed" her marriage date - though one day out - when registering young Annie's birth ??
Agnes McGuckian/Johnstone's supposed marriage place was Colmonell. But, as already said, there's no such marriage anywhere.
