Maggie

You need to add “not answered’ or something to that effect to your title. The ‘answered’ tick will still make people think you don’t need further help

If you want your query left open just amend the title eg adding not answered or similar. Probably needs rewriting as only so much can be seen.

Thanks for lesson! Query not resolved and I've been looking for many many years! Not hopeful of ever finding their burials.

You have 'marked as answered' which means that members will think the query has been resolved. Unfortunately, you can't remove the 'tick'.

Thanks for these replies. Already got this information and have checked birthplace cemeteries, as well as those in the areas they died, and don't believe they were church goers.

Welcome to Genes and the boards.

Have you checked the Findagrave and Deseased online websites. Not full coverage but you never know.

Registration districts can cover quite a large area.

Cremations started in England in 1885.

Could religion be an issue? Did they attend a church - there could be church burial records.

My gt gt grandparents married at st James Piccadilly 1859, Louisa Jane Evans died 1881 (registered St Margaret, Westminster) and William Evans died 1910 (registered Croydon). They both worked and lived until just before their deaths in Westminster. I have tried many, many cemeteries in/near Westminster, nothing so far for either - on the assumption that William may have wanted to be buried with his wife. I've also contacted all cemeteries in Surrey where he died, but nothing.

I have spent many (too many!) years trying to track these down. Any suggestions of help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
