This is an odd one. My real family name is Bromley. However, my grandfather, George Valentine, born Bromley, married as a Bromley but changed his name to Stratford, just prior to dad, Charles, being born in 1916, 2 years later. With no apparent reason for this, I have come to a full stop in my family research. Does anybody out there recognise this as a similar story to their own and if so, I would be pleased to hear from them.
