John Bean and Ann, from Swinderby, parents of George below, and probably Bryan. I think they lived and died in the Swinderby area, but would love to add to what little we know. George Bean (born 1826 in Swinderby) and Sarah Frankish (born 1830 South Scarle) had 9 children, born between 1852 in Winthorpe and 1871 in Buscot. George Bean, (b. Winthorpe) is said tohave gone to New Zealand taking threshing tackle(!) and did very well there. Brother Bryan, born Buscot 1860, is said to have gone with him, or joined him. We have good knowledge of John (my Great-Grandfather), Ann (married William Talbot), Ruth (married James Frank Burbury). We know Alice died young. Anyone with any knowledge of the others? Walter, Tamar Elizabeth and Alfred. Marvellous to find them, or their descendants. We have George William Bean, born Stoneleigh 1890, married Lelia Allen in 1914 in Alderney. At that time he was a Staff Sergeant in the Royal Engineers, based at Tynemouth. They had son John Nicholas in 1914 - he went into the RAF, had 2 daughters, and Lelia. They were all in India soon after the War. Would love to find out more about them - George was my Gran's older brother. Liz Lane |
