Her Father was Christopher Henry Stokes BOWRING born Warsop notts 8.9.1896 - his father Arthur Stokes Bowring also born Warsop. Family legend says he came to Sheffield when his father/grandfather died leaving him & his siblings some money. His siblings invested this in their own business's in the Warsop/Ollerton area. All the boys carried the name Stokes as well as BOWRING - Stokes being the maiden name of Arthur's mother, Elizabeth but spelt Stoakes. If anybody thinks they may be connected please get in touch. thanks
