I am Clive Digby Brittain born 1954, married to Dorothy Brittain maiden name Holding born 1951, we have three children. My father was Digby Arthur Brittain married to Winifred May Brittain, wife's maiden name Robinson. Both born 1920. His father James Digby Brittain married Elizabeth Lilian Brittain maiden name Swan. His father my G.G.father named James Brittain born 1869 Islington London married to Alice M. Brittain maiden name unknown, born 1876 Plaistow Sth., W.Ham., were living with their three children Lily born 1896, James born 1898 and George born 1899, at 1, Sussex St., W.Ham. according to 1901 census. At that dwelling was also George Brittain born 1837 Potton, Beds., his wife Eliza born 1834 Potton, Beds,. I would like to establish any links. I have found links of my G.mother's line re., Swan. My G.father's family lived at 95,Hornsey Park Road, Hornsey, Haringey, London N8. in 1944. I know they were living there for I have a telegraph from the Admiralty about my uncle Louis James Brittain killed in action whilst on Arctic convoy dutties his ship was H.M.S. Cassandra torpedoed in Dec., 1944. They were living there in 1950 according to marriage cert., of Digby Arthur Brittain & Winifred May Robinson at Wood Green Register office london.
