My grandmother, Jennet Ross, was born 1842 in Bermondsey Surrey. Her father, John Ross was a Scottish master mariner. In the latter part of his career he was a captain in the French service. They lived in St Giles Cripplegate parish in NE London at the time of her marriage in 1860 to my grandfather Richard Spencer. Anyone with a connection?
