Years ago I read that the name Caddick came from an old French word 'caduc' meaning boat. No idea if this is true. Twenty years ago my school history teacher traced the family shield of every class member. I vaguely remember that it was split diagonally with one half black and the other gold, then with some sort of creature, but that's all. I have no idea how he did it and have been unable to manage it myself, nowhere seems to have records of us ever having a shield. |
