My father had an historian investigate our family tree. I understand that the Hulstone family (in Lancashire) can date back their family to the 16th Century when a Swedish merchant came to England and married someone in the north. His name was originally spelt Hulston and an 'e' was added to make it sound more English. There was also a female burnt at the stake as a witch! |
