AlanWinspear: For Amanda Stracey. Whitby is a large centre for the Winspear family. We are of Viking descent and there were settlements all along that part of the north-east coast. The church yards of Whitby contain many Winspears, and consequently, church records sould yield some information relating to your quest. At some time in my history my family moved inland to York, where I was born. I then moved my sons to the south-east, and my wife and I have retired to North Wales, so the Winspears are obviously travellers. Hope this is of some help. |
