Member Since: January 2003 Posts: 1 Send Message	As far as I know, the name Buddell derives from the word "beadle". It is the original Oliver Twist story, where a child who is born in the work house and the name of the child's mother is unknown, the beadle gives the child a name, using his status as its surname. I'm told that's what happened with my ancestors anyway.
