Clutterbuck Professional researchers have carefully scrutinised such ancient manuscripts as the Ragman Rolls (1291-1296), a record of homage rendered to King Edward 1st England, the Curia Regis Rolls, the Pipe Rolls, the Hearth Rolls, parish registers, baptismal, tax records and other ancient documents and found the first record of the name Clutterbuck, in Gloucestershire where they were seated from early times, approximately 1400’s and granted land there. The family name Clutterbuck emerged as a notable English family in Gloucestershire where they were recorded as a family of great antiquity seated at Eastington with manor and lands in that shire. Their name was originally spelled Cloerterbook.
