My grandfather was born in Moville in Co. Donegal late into the 19th. Century. He worked for the British Government in Ireland as a land surveyor and moved to Dublin. When Ireland became the Irish Free State he worked on the partition of land for the Free State in County Clare where he had moved with his family. He had married Mary Doherty from Carhuduff, near Mltown Malbay, Co. Clare. They had 8 children. I will add more as and when I get more information from what you can immagine is a very large direct family.
