I can trace the name Windle back to the mid to late 1800's to a town called Moyvane (aka Newtown Sands) which is near Listowel, Co Kerry in the Rep of Ireland. I believe it was originally spelt (and pronounced) Wingle but the 'G' changed to 'D' over the years. I would like to hear from anyone who can add to, or confirm this information.
