My Amer relatives came originally from Cadley, nr Marlborough in Wiltshire. Edward and Rachel AMER married in Marlborough ca 1776; their children were William, Fanny, John, Elizabeth and Joseph. John married Hannah COLLINS at Preshute 1799; Their children were William, Jacob, Lucy, Elizabeth, Richard, Mary, Thomas and a second Elizabeth. William moved to Cold Ash, Berkshire where he married Sarah CARTER from Bucklebury in 1819; his children were John, Richard, Lucy, Hannah, Eliza, Charles, Mary and Elizabeth. Charles married Caroline CHAPMAN at Beenham. Their children were Edwin Eliza, Mary, Louisa, William, Sarah Jane,Ann, Richard, Caroline, Agnes E., Tom, Walter and Arthur. Louisa was my grandmother and came to New Zealand in 1913 with her husband and two of her sons.. |
