I am interested in tracing relatives or ancestors of my mothers father, Edward James Tompkins. I think he was born around 1880 and died early in the first world war, in 1914. His wife was Edith nee Winton and they had three children, Jack, James and Ethel. All now deceased. Jack served in the RAF, James in Signals Regiment, Ethel was a dress maker/tailoress, worked in Bond Street in the 50s. The family has strong connections in Sussex, particularly Hastings area. I would be happy to hear from anyone with Tompkins or Winton connections. Margaret Dyer-Forster |
