It certainly seems that for an uncommon name the family is spread around quite a large area. Around Hereford (whihc is on the Welsh border) there are direct links to my immediate family spanning back well over 100 years that I know for sure. Areas including Farr's close and Farr's Meadow and areas that were sold to Bulmers cider by a Farr that lost a fair amount owing to gambling.
