Research of the chronicles of England indicates that the name WARRINGTON is of Norman origin, ranking among the oldest. Warrington was found to be a manor in Lancashire that was granted to Roger de Poitou one of William the Conquerors favourite Barons. His descendants were the Lords of Warrimngton untill 1586 and it was from the junior lines that the name of Warrington was derived The surname Warrington emerged as a distinguished English name in the county of Lancashire.
