Trying to find more about my McCourt connections. My maternal grand-father was Edward McCourt last known whereabouts Carcroft, West Riding. My mother (Anne) and her siblings (Edward Jnr, Winifred Grace, Matilda, Mary, Violet, Martha Ellen and Pamela) lived in Maltby, West Riding at the time of her birth in 1934. Following the death of my grandmother Matilda (nee Eccles) in the early 1940s the young family was taken in/adopted by various families. I believe that Edward Jnr was killed in a road accident in his youth. My mother has only ever met Winifred, Violet and Pamela who had stayed relatively local, as for the others? My grand-father had two brothers John and Hugh and their father was also a John, there is a vague notion within the family that there may be a connection to Ayrshire or perhaps Castlemilk. Any relevant McCourt information would be welcomed. Many Thanks |
