Member Since: February 2003 Posts: 2 Send Message	Venables/Venable is From France and immigrated to England with William the Conqueror. The name according to some historians means, "he who kills with a spear". As the first Venables were known as hunters and had gone on a hunting trip with a notable and they were attacked by bandits and the "Venable" stepped in and killed the bandit leader thereby saving the Dukes life. Thereby gaining his own name and recognition.
