My Father was Born Woolwich, London 1894 Sidney Arthur Hawkes, His Father was George Hawkes Died 1936 and was born in woolwich, London. Most of the Hawkes family were waterman on the River Thames and Publicans. Robert and Richard comes up quite often in the family. My Great Grandfather was Rubin Robert Hawkes, Waterman and Publican. Owned Steam Packett Public House Woolwich, amoungst other property.
