Trying to find Thorpe

I am looking for my grandfather and any of his relatives, his name is Douglas Thorpe but was nick named (Jonny), he served in the navy and married my grandmother Violet Jackson from Belfast,where they also lived, they had 2 children one of which is my father Michael Herbert Vaughan Thorpe age 60, their marraige ended after a few years and I think my grandfather moved back to England where he was from. He tried to get custody of his children but my grandmother wouldn't let him. My grandmother also had children from a previous relationship florence, madelene, pat and kenith, he took on these children as his own. My father has not seen his Dad since he was a little boy and longs for information, all he really knows is that his fathers parents may have owned a Taylors shop in London. Can anyone help me?
