Still desperately trying to get info, I have tried Scotlands People and am getting nowhere.I am trying to trace the relatives of John Bell and Annie MacArthur Fleming, does this ring any bells with anyone. They had my Grandmother Catherine McArthur Bell who married James Souter. John Bell was born around 1880, his father was also John Bell and his mother was Flora, but I do not have a surname for her. They are from Glasgow or Furness, I think he had a brother Duncan , who possibly has a daughter Margaret? living in Furness area. John played and eventually refereed Shinty with Glasgow Mid Argyl, he worked in Furness Quarry with his brother and with Clyde Steamers on the boats from Furness, he eventually went back to his trade of stonemason, working for Glasgow Corporation making the cobblestones |
