My gt grandmother was born Janet Blythe in Yetholm in scotland in 1885. It looks as though they may have been gipsys though had been settled in the area for aeveral generations.her mother was janet wood her father was John Blythe. His mother was helen Blythe there is no father listed for him.His mothers birth is unrecorded although the cebsus of 1901 lists her as born in yetholme.the name Janet goes back another two generations.other surnames are douglas & Wood.my gt grandmothers mother was janet wood formerly douglas but her husband? was john blythe.Any additional info would be great, were missing the link to definately confirm that they were a gipsy family. My mum saya she was taught gipsy poems as a child & not to be predjudice at a time when they were looked badly on. She was born & raised in workington cumbria, her grandparents had settled there long before.
