POCOCK / JEFFRIES Hi, I'm looking for any information on my great-great-great grandmother, Maria POCOCK (born sometime in about 1816). She was married to a William JEFFRIES (in 1837). I understand from the 1851 Census that she was from Twerton, Somerset (well, now it's just outside of Bath). Her father was named William Pocock and he was a butcher (this was according to the marriage certificate). Also according to the 1851 England Census, Maria & William Jeffries' children are listed as: William (born 1839) Ambrose (1843) - my great-great grandfather Henry (1845) John (1848) I know that the family emigrated to the United States in about 1855. If anyone can help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it. Regards, Kelley |
