A bit more info...Rebecca Vaughan b.1840 along with sisters Anna (1837) and Elizabeth (1842) are listed in 1861 census as paupers in Clifton Union Workhouse Bristol, birthplace not known. I have been told by a family member that they arrived in England with their Governess, who absconded with their money and left them destitute. Does anyone know or have access to immigration records. I have absolutely no idea where they may have come from, but as there are 3 of them plus a Governess it may narrow things down a tiny bit. If you can help I'd be very grateful. |
