I am aware that your query about Longford Shanleys dates from several years ago, but I have only just seen it, having been unsubscribed from Genes Reunited for quite some time. However, I am intrigued that your father was a Longford-born stonemason because I am also descended from Longford Shanleys who were stonemasons for at least three generations; the most important of whom, for me, is my great-grandfather John Shanley, born in 1852 in the townland of Cloontagh in County Longford. |

my father patrick joseph shanley aka paddy born Longford eire sept. 1916 stonemason to trade lived in glasgow for many years, sadly died oct 1968, married to annie, four daughters, his fathers name james , mothers elizabeth nee walsh, my father had 4 sisters lily,bridie,maimie,stacia .stacia lived in minehead, lily in lurgan,bridie in carrick on shannon while maimie remained in leitrim town , maimie married to dan mcveigh , sons paddy, seamus,daughters daisy,mary,nfo on descendants would be welcome thankyou anne shanley |
