Donoghue. Any information please on 'Jack' Donoghue who was born Patrick John Alexander Donoghue in Rotherhithe, Middlesex (now in London) on 16/02/1881. He called himself 'Jack Benson' when he illegally married my grandmother, Violet Brendle, in 1917. Jack's father was born Patrick John Donoghue in 1848 (married to Alice Cook b. 1885). Jack's grandfather was born in Ireland in about 1796 (married to Julia surname unknown b. c1808). I now know Jack married Annie Lilian Skinner (b. c1885), using his correct name of Patrick J. A. Donoghue, in Greenwich 1915. I believe he was jailed during the 1920s for bigamy and died in 1943. Annie Skinner also died later that year. I would particularly like to know whether Annie had any children. Thanks [email protected] |
