My grandfather William Whitfield born in Thirkelby near York had sister Gladys, and brother Frank (who died in the 14-18 war)and possibly another sibling. His father was the schoolmaster of the village.I would like to hear from the sons of Arthur Whitfield deceased who lived in York close to his sister Marjorie Scruton. she passed away in 1998. He had been married to a lady that resided in Redcar and they had two sons. My mother Gladys Jean Hewgill, cousin to Marjorie & Arthur, had once met one of the boys in Stockton where he worked for the Gas Board. |
